“SUPPORTING HANDS – STEADY STEPS” FAIR AND DIALOGUE PROMOTES LIVELIHOODS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (JULY 2026)
On July 25, 2026, in Hue City, the Research Center for Inclusion (RCI), the lead organization of the Alliance of All for Inclusion (AAI), organized the “Supporting Hands – Steady Steps” Fair and Dialogue on Livelihood Models. The event aimed to expand employment opportunities, strengthen livelihoods for persons with disabilities, and raise public awareness of their capabilities and contributions to economic development.
Promoting Livelihoods for Persons with Disabilities Through Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration
The event brought together representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Viet Nam, the National Action Center for Toxic Chemicals and Environmental Treatment (NACCET), the Departments of Health of Hue City and Da Nang City, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri Province, Disabled Persons’ Organizations, businesses, vocational training institutions, employment service providers, and persons with disabilities and their family members from the three project locations: Da Nang, Hue, and Quang Tri.
In his remarks, Mr. Tran Duc Hung, Deputy Director General of NACCET and National Program Manager of the Inclusion Project, emphasized that employment and sustainable livelihoods are essential for empowering persons with disabilities, enhancing self-reliance, and enabling their equal participation in socio-economic life.
The event theme, “Supporting Hands – Steady Steps,” reflects this vision. “Supporting Hands” symbolizes the collective support of government agencies, development organizations, businesses, and communities, while “Steady Steps” represents the ultimate goal of enabling persons with disabilities to build sustainable livelihoods, access decent employment, and live independently.
Sharing Livelihood Models and Connecting Employment Opportunities
Participants visited exhibition booths showcasing products made by persons with disabilities while networking with businesses, vocational training providers, and employment support organizations.
The dialogue sessions highlighted successful livelihood models implemented in Da Nang, Hue, and Quang Tri, while also providing updates on employment policies, labor market trends, and vocational training opportunities for persons with disabilities.
In addition, one-on-one consultation sessions connected government agencies, businesses, training institutions, and persons with disabilities. These discussions helped participants and their families explore practical livelihood options and develop employment plans suited to their skills, interests, and circumstances.
RCI Promotes Employment Opportunities and Sustainable Inclusion
Through the “Supporting Hands – Steady Steps” Fair and Dialogue, RCI and AAI members continue to promote a person-centered approach that shifts the focus from “providing support” to “creating opportunities” for persons with disabilities.
The event contributes to implementing the spirit of Viet Nam’s Employment Law 2025 by promoting livelihoods for persons with disabilities, expanding access to employment opportunities, strengthening economic independence, and fostering equal participation in social and economic life.
