CALL FOR ENTRIES: PHOTOVOICE 2026 CONTEST ON “SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES”

With funding from Liliane Fonds (the Netherlands), the Research Center for Inclusion (RCI) is implementing the project “Safe Body Space: Learn – Share – Care.” The project aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of youth with disabilities, enabling them to make informed decisions about their bodies and rights. It is being implemented in Ha Noi from 2026 to February 2027.

1. Purpose

The contest aims to raise public awareness of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Youth with Disabilities, including but not limited to the perspectives of youth with disabilities on sexual and reproductive health care, the challenges they face, their unmet needs and aspirations, and their access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

2. Theme

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Youth with Disabilities

Suggested topics include:

• Sexual and reproductive health rights of youth with disabilities

• Sexual and reproductive health issues faced by youth with disabilities

• The needs and aspirations of youth with disabilities regarding SRH and sexual health care

Other related SRH topics may include puberty, adolescent health care, body image, pregnancy and contraception, marriage and family, parenting, sexuality and sexual development, consent and boundaries, prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), gender and gender diversity, sexual diversity, healthy and safe sexuality, and sexual and reproductive rights.

3. Eligibility

• Youth with disabilities aged 10–35 years old who live, study, or work in Ha Noi

• Open to all disability types and employment statuses

4. Judging Criteria

• Relevance to the Theme (Maximum 10 points): The photo is clearly related to the contest theme.

• Ethics (Maximum 10 points): The submission complies with legal and ethical standards and does not contain offensive, political, or religiously provocative content.

• Photo Quality (Maximum 10 points): High-quality image (>3 MB, minimum 720 HD), clear and sharp, without excessive editing or manipulation that alters the authenticity of the photo.

• Message and Storytelling (Maximum 40 points): The photo is accompanied by a clear caption/story that highlights the perspectives of youth with disabilities on SRH. The message should be meaningful, inspiring, or address challenges faced by youth with disabilities, including possible recommendations, unmet needs, or aspirations related to SRH and SRHR.

• Aesthetics (Maximum 30 points): The photo should feature people rather than only objects or scenery. Composition, visual appeal, and color harmony will be considered.

• Total Maximum Score: 100 points

⚠️ Submitted works may be used for non-profit purposes without limitations on time or frequency of use.

5. How to Participate

A complete submission must include:

• 1–3 photos related to the contest theme

• A signed photo consent form for any identifiable person featured in the photo (using the template provided by RCI)

• A photo story submission form (using the template provided by RCI)

Step 1 – Take Photos

Capture 1–3 photos related to the contest theme.

Step 2 – Tell the Story

Write a story or caption (maximum 250 words) explaining the meaning and message behind your photo(s).

Step 3 – Submit Your Entry

6. Required Submission Forms

1. Photo Story Submission Form

• Complete all required information in the form.

• Personal information will only be used for donor reporting purposes and to contact prize winners.

• Only the author’s name will be displayed when entries are posted on RCI’s Facebook Fanpage for public voting.

2. Photo Consent Form

• The consent form must be signed by the person featured in the photo.

• If the photographer is also the subject of the photo and submits the entry, they must sign the consent form themselves.

• Each consent form may only be signed by one person.

Consent Form Required When:

✅ Photographing a person who can be identified through facial features, tattoos, or other recognizable characteristics

✅ Photographing a minor (under 18 years old)
(The consent form must be signed by a parent, primary caregiver, or legal guardian.)

✅ Photographing personal belongings or private property

Consent Form Not Required When:

❌ Photographing public figures

❌ Photographing public environments or publicly available displays

❌ Photographing individuals who cannot be specifically identified

• Share = 2 points

8. Awards

• 1 First Prize: VND 2,000,000

• 2 Second Prizes: VND 1,500,000 each

• 3 Third Prizes: VND 1,000,000 each

• 3 Consolation Prizes: VND 500,000 each

• 3 Popular Vote Awards: VND 500,000 each

• 20 August 2026: Contest launch

• 25 August 2026: Submission period opens

• 5:00 PM, 20 October 2026: Submission deadline

• 25 October 2026: Jury evaluation of First, Second, Third, and Consolation prizes

• 27 October 2026: Announcement of the three Popular Vote Award winners on RCI’s Facebook Fanpage

• November–December 2026: Award ceremony and exhibition of winning entries during a community awareness event
