Guidance on Integrating SRH in Teaching, Counseling & Supporting Youngsters with Disabilities (Feb-Mar, 2023)

Within the framework of the Body Talk project, RCI cooperated with the provincial Department of Education and Training to organize 2 training courses on SRH for 57 teachers and health staff in Quang Tri and Dak Lak provinces. Specifically, one course took place on February 14-15th in Quang Tri, and another one took place on March 9th in Dak Lak.

The training session aimed to strengthen skills to integrate the topic of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in teaching, counseling, and supporting youths with disabilities. From there, they can be more open and comfortable discussing this topic with their teachers and are fully equipped with the knowledge to take care of themselves.

The special thing about this training session lay in the trainers. They are the students who participated in the training course for the core team of teachers and health staff in May and September 2022 in Da Nang – Nha Trang. Through the two current training courses, it can be seen that the trainers knew how to flexibly apply the knowledge and methods they have learned to effectively convey knowledge to trainees, while still ensuring the atmosphere in the classroom was lively and attractive.

RCI is very pleased to see the success of the previous training courses. We sincerely hoped that the effectiveness of the project will continue to be spread more widely to ensure a bright and inclusive future for youth with disabilities.
