From January 22 to January 26, 2024, the Research Centre for Inclusion (RCI) hosted a series of New Year-themed handicraft events for people with disabilities in three provinces of Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Tri as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations. The Spring Festival event has gained support from disability groups/clubs/social organizations in all three project provinces.

Aiming at integrating local groups of persons with disabilities while also providing a merry and healthy environment for them, the event has attracted over 100 participants who are people with disabilities from Nui Thanh district (Quang Nam), A Luoi and Phu Vang district (Thua Thien Hue), and Hai Lang district (Quang Tri). This also provided a chance for individuals with disabilities to meet and welcome one another, with the goal of improving social integration and changing public perceptions of persons with disabilities.

The event included various enjoyable activities, such as a banh chung wrapping contest, a five-fruit tray display contest, or makings of basic handicraft goods like fortunate money envelopes and packaging local delicacies. Not only did the event provide such warm and intimate moments, but it also promoted the spirit of sharing and loving in commemoration of the nearing new year.
