On 2 days 11 & 12 October 2018, in Ha Noi, NLR Mekong organised a Contest of Understanding Policy on Persons with Disabilities, with the participation of persons with disabilities/beneficiaries in the project area of NLR Mekong’s partner organisations in Hoa Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Gia Lai.
The Contest were facilitated by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh from Advocacy Committee for Vietnamese Deaf Association and Mr. Pham Anh Duy, sign language teacher. Rules and topics were disseminated to all groups by the facilitators. NLR Mekong also distributed policy documents (laws, circulars and decrees) to participants so that they can have updated information.
This Contest helped persons with disabilities understand more about policies and benefits that are applied to them and this promotes the implementation of these policies in localities where they are living.
