Between December 19th–22nd, 2022, within the framework of Project Inclusion 1, RCI/AAI organized 4 Photovoice Competition Photo Displays in 3 provinces: Quang Tri, Hue, and Quang Nam.
Photovoice aims to raise public awareness about home-based care for people with disabilities, thereby positively changing the community’s attitude towards this work. At the same time, the event also encourages and increases men’s involvement in home-based care for people with disabilities.
The displays welcomed the attendance of a total of 193 people, including people with disabilities and their caregivers, members from the community network of peer counselors, representatives of the local communes/districts as well as partner organizations.
Photos at the display
In the events, there were activities that allowed participants to relaxingly contemplate the displayed photos and think about the messages conveyed in each image. Each finalist gave a presentation on the photo’s meaning and the thoughts they would like to share with the community. AAI also opened forums for discussion on the necessity of male involvement in home-based care for people with disabilities.
