Short-Term Training and Consultation for Family Members and Caregivers on Daily Support and Care Skills for Persons with Disabilities (November 2024)

In November 2024, the Research Center for Inclusion (RCI), the lead agency of the AAI Consortium, successfully organized eight training sessions for family members and caregivers on daily care and support skills for persons with neurodevelopmental disabilities in three project provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, and Quang Nam. These training sessions were conducted under the Inclusion 1 project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Training session in Quang Nam

The activity aims to improve the quality of care for persons with neurodevelopmental disabilities, thereby contributing to enhancing care services for persons with disabilities in general within the community.

The training sessions took place in project communes across Huong Tra District (Thua Thien Hue), Hai Lang District (Quang Tri), and Phu Ninh District (Quang Nam). Participants included family caregivers of persons with disabilities receiving project support and community caregivers.

Training session in Hue

The activity received active collaboration from the People’s Committees of the project districts and communes, local health stations, medical doctors and nurses from Hue Psychiatric Hospital, and a consulting team of doctors and nurses from Da Nang.

As a result, eight training sessions were successfully conducted across the three provinces, with the participation of 239 family members and community caregivers.
