In April 2026, representatives from the Research Center for Inclusion (RCI) participated in the training course “Organizing Equitable Responses to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)” organized by KIT Institute in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The training course focused on developing equitable, people-centered approaches in the field of SRHR, covering key topics such as policy advocacy; gender, power, and intersectionality; disability-inclusive approaches; HIV prevention; safe motherhood; comprehensive sexuality education; and the use of digital technology to improve body literacy.
In addition to classroom sessions, participants also joined study visits to community-based organizations in Amsterdam. This provided RCI with an opportunity to learn about models that support vulnerable groups in accessing sexual and reproductive health services, while drawing valuable lessons and practical experiences relevant to the Vietnamese context.
The course also highlighted core values of modern SRHR programmes, including equity, non-discrimination, meaningful participation, respect for diversity, the right to choose, and access to quality services. These principles strongly align with RCI’s approaches in programmes supporting persons with disabilities, adolescents, and other vulnerable groups in Viet Nam.
Through the training course, RCI staff had the opportunity to update their international knowledge, expand professional networks, and strengthen their capacity to design comprehensive and inclusive interventions. The knowledge and experience gained from the course will be applied in RCI’s upcoming activities to promote sexual reproductive health and rights for all, especially persons with disabilities.
