Under the framework of the project “Improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in provinces sprayed with Agent Orange”, funded by the United States Government, the Research Center for Inclusion (RCI) collaborated with doctors from the Hue Psychiatric Hospital to organize a series of short-term training and counseling sessions for family members and caregivers of persons with disabilities in Quang Tri Province and Hue City, two project areas in Central Vietnam.
The training sessions took place from August 23 to 25, 2025 at Hai Son and Hai Phong Commune Health Stations (Nam Hai Lang Commune, Quang Tri Province) and the Community Cultural House of Dan Dien Commune (Hue City).
Following the completion of neurological–psychiatric care case openings, the project continued to implement training sessions to enhance caregivers’ knowledge and skills. The sessions focused on improving understanding of mental and neurological health, developing daily care skills, ensuring safe medication use, and responding effectively to emergency situations during the caregiving process.
In total, 109 participants received training and counseling sessions. The activity was evaluated as highly practical and effective, helping caregivers strengthen their capacity to support persons with neuropsychiatric disabilities. This activity also contributed to improving mental health, promoting better care practices, and enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities in local communities.
